Jonathan M. Forester, MS, M.Ed. - President of Forester Food Consulting and Penobscot Bay Distillery, partner in Winterport Winery, has over twenty years of experience in the food and beverage trade. He is also a freelance food and travel writer for various publications and internet sites. Jonathan has trained at the French Culinary Institute in New York City, and has studied at culinary schools and restaurants in Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America. He has worked in a variety of food and food related positions such as: wine consultant and in wine sales; brewer; private chef and caterer; hard cider maker; winemaker; distiller; baker of rustic bread in a wood fired brick oven; maker of artisanal cheese from grass fed, raw milk, and much more. He is developing and will soon be manufacturing several lines of his own food and beverage products; including sauces, syrups, preserves, soft drinks, wine, beer, hard cider, distilled spirits, and liqueurs. Jonathan also has fifteen years experience working as a corporate trainer, seminar leader, public speaker, strategic business consultant, educator, college and mental health counselor. While he has worked with over a hundred large companies including dozens of Fortune 500 firms, including top consulting firms; he much prefers the challenges and rewards of helping the small business get up off the ground and grow successfully. His academic background includes multiple graduate degrees in Education and Psychology, as well as extensive graduate study in a variety of fields including Strategic Business Management, Organizational Leadership, Counseling, and Education and Administration.
Jonathan is a world traveler who has eaten his way around the world; including Europe, Asia and South-East Asia, India, Africa, and South America. In addition he has been all over the U.S. and Canada, traveling and studying many of its regional food specialties. He brings these cuisines together in unique ways as part of his knowledge base and food repertoire. He has also taught classes of world wide regional foods and national cuisines to college students, faculty, and staff abroad.
In addition we have a team of food professionals: food writers, chefs, media / public relations professionals, graphic artists, website developers, and business experts available to meet any need.
